Bradley Mine

Owned by Peter and Robert Parrott with the Parrott Iron Company, the Bradley Mine was worked vigorously during the Civil War and supplied its ore to the Clove and Greenwood furnaces. At the Greenwood furnace, the ore was used in the manufacturing of metal for the famous Parrott Gun. After the Civil War the mine continued to operate until closing permanently in 1874. The operation was significant but no record of total production is known nor when the mine first opened.

The mine consists of a large deep trench that extends for a distance of approximately 200 feet before reaching an underground cavernous stope. Here, a shaft connects from the surface.
