... You take your cap light and move it left to right multiple times (just as one example) to allow them that you are there & stopped. For Shoemaker the block signals work off the trolley wire but the dispatcher & radio communication is the most critical. Hope that helps a little. Pete, ...

What company made that mantrip shown coming out of the shoemaker mine in those photos? (not the jeffery locomotive with the roof bolter) but the mantrip.

... longwall. 1 used Jefferys motors and the other used both Jeffery and old rebuilt Westinghouse motors (locomovitives) BTW we had some guys go to Shoemaker when SOCCO closed. If you run into any of them tell them an old dude says hello :D

Banks, "The Back Road" has a couple different names, its Main St. in Swoyersville, then Shoemaker Ave. in West Wyoming, then Slocum Ave. in West Pittston. I always knew it as the "back road".
