the parts for these aren't too bad becasue you can improvise with a lot... obviously we'd want to keep it as origional as possible, but things like the speed controler and all the driver controls can be restored or replaced with items fabricated exactly as the origionals were made (if needed). In terms of major parts on the rest of the motor, we have connections to "parts" motos that'll never run again and the bituminous team have lots of parts and experience with mine motors.

If / when we get it it'll probably go to a shop in Tunkhannock, then when the restoration is done it may move to the Gravity slope buildings in Archbald which are in the process of being turned into a mining technology museum. there it would run demos on rails around the museum.

yea, its not looking good at this point for getting this motor any time soon. i talked to this guy about a week ago and as of now he doesnt want to get rid of it. maybe that will change though. so for now we will concentrate our efforts on the one we have (see mine motor in projects and project photos) and the ones we are getting from baumans. maybe we can make that one run again. its pretty bad though.

probably not the money... this guy is an avid collector of narrow gauge trains. he has his own steam engine and narrow gauge line to give rides on. this is one of the pieces he's collected over the years, and isn't so willing to give it up just yet. hopefully he'll see that we want to return it to it's former glory and realize that there really isn't anyone else who can do it better..........it would go to a great cause at the museum.
