The story behind our 90th annivesary Brookville locomotive. Ohio Vintage Coal Co. was approached spring of 2008 to design and build a short demonstartion track for the 2008 National Convention of the Historic Construction Equipment Association hosted by the National Pike Steam, Gas & Horse Association near Brownsville, Pennsylvania. Our group was honored to build the first ever working demonstation track in the U.S. for such an event. The purpose was to educate people the importance of rail haulage with the early construction industry of America. Our group also realized that 2008 also marked the 90th Anniversary of Brookville locomotive so what better locomotive to host at the National Convention (A 90TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL).

Below is a locomotive that one of our members acquired from Mississippi Lime Co. in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri in late 2007. We began the restoration process 2-1/2 weeks before the show due to extremely busy work schedules. We had a bad feeling starting this major project with so little time but we also new it was feasible.

The last (7) days we pulled 21 hour days. we were ready to kiss the ground once we arrived at the convention. Also keep in mind we were also restoring the side dump car at the same time.
