Hey, not sure of your baldwin, but youre ge tag would most likely have come from a storage battery like this one:

http://www.ironminers.com/mineforum/vie ... php?t=1150

there is a guy on this forum that can help tracking down where it came from using the serial number. where did you get the builders plates?

chris

Hi Chris I got both of them on ebay The Baldwin Westinghouse came from a guy in Pennslyvania so I guess it may have come from a local mine The GE was from a seller in Utah perhaps also an area mine there both in pretty good shape considering the rough work environment these locomotives must have had

If you have the serial number you might wish to contact the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania for the builders photos. They have a large collection of Baldwin negatives and builders spec cards.

Hey Chris were you referring to the GE unit from Hudson Coal? I was looking at your photos of it Doesnt appear to have a indentification plate with a serial number? I know on GE standard guage industrial locomotives in the area where the builders plate was mounted they used to stamp in the serial number on the frame so you could try checking there if the rust isnt too bad
