we are going to retrieve 3 mine cars for restoration from the hudson coal co. should be getting them next week. this week we are preparing them for removal, which we still have to deciede if we can move them in one piece or, dis assemble them on site and load the parts in the trucks and drive them to the shop. the latter may be the way we are going to do this since they are wooden and quite rotted out. wouldnt want them to fall apart on the way home and leave a 10 mile trail of mine car parts  so, we are heading up to the site tomorrow, we will get some good pics when we get them cleared out.

These things are gunna be awesome. They already are awesome!

heres a pic of the same coal cars after a smash near Hudson Coal Company's Olyphant Colliery. Notice the car number on the side. One of the cars we're working on obtaining still had part of the car #, but unfortunatly not enough of it was legible to get the whole number.

We'll have to recreate that photo when we're done with them. Anyone have a 30 inch gauge steam engine we can borrow?

similar, the one at pioneer is an 0-4-0T and that one is 0-6-0T both are vulcan locomotives though. heres one exactly the same, also a hudson lokie but from the powderly colliery:

also, the mine car behind it is the same as these we are going to restore

looks like there is more than 3 mine cars there-what's up with the one in the foreground in picture 6. is it missing its axles or something? at the very least there's a few more parts. be worth taking while you're there.

and if that's the case you might find the rest of the parts somewhere else....

Yeah, there is actually another one but not complete and a little smashed.... thats not even it in pic 6. However there are quite a few parts laying around in different spots for them like the ones in pic 6, so it might be possible to get a fourth car by putting the parts together. We're gunna collect everything we can... have a little stockpile of car parts for future projects. Mine car parts are always good to have. 8)

Should be a cool project. They are awesome looking Mine Cars, it will be a blast to see them when they are finished.
