I had read an obscure note about some mines in the heart of Kingston NY and found them.

This adit is not long for this world.

The next series, little did I know you folks had already been there.

Our lighting was not as good as yours.

Noted a trail near the mine and followed it and found a drainage weir.

Image

Found a small adit, which we assumed was for drainage to the weir.

On the hillside, four adits which appear to be dry.

Too bad our lights were depleted.

Next time!

At the first location something I'd not seen near a Dolomite Limestone mine, perhaps it's common, but I'm no geologist.

Tens of millions of fossils, mostly clam shells, embedded in sandstone.

The rest of the photo-set.

The lighting is not the best.

A test on what the large mine was used for.

It might explain all the brick, and definitely the hydrator.
