Hi, I am new to this site and want to share with you some western mining heritage with iron miners. Here is a mine that we get to explore, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sHbsdG97mU
I hope you enjoy the video.

Very good mining video. It seems like at least the mining locomotives are operational. I also love the "This Way Out" sign pointing down the flooded section on the mine. Very neat stuff!

We push a small utility cart down the tracks with a camera on it. One of the guys in our group ( www.mojaveunderground.com) since then has built a reproduction of a Mancha Little Trammer . Here a vid of it in the Ophir Hill. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TI_JV7jl ... _embedded#!

The Ophir Hill has 22 miles of passageways, we still haven't explored it all.

This video would look amazing on a wide screen with surround sound! The camera on the utility cart really gives a sense of the experience the miners had riding into the mine. I love the use of music and sound especially during the part with dripping water.

The mine was a silver mine, but also for lead, copper and other metals. It was closed in 1972 after it was mined for 100 years. The place is huge and has 22 miles of workings. Some members of our group have spent 100's of hours in it and still are finding new workings. The owner of the mine let us in for trade of getting some of the artifacts out. This is one of the several mines he owns, the others have cool stuff in them including a horse stable.
