Thanks.

Get out! I was born in Pottsville and lived in Cumbola. Eagle Hill is where a lot of my ancestors worked. I tried the Schuylkill County Historical Society and they charged me $20.00 for a real bad copy of the colliery. My great-grandfather owned a store in Cumbola where the miners bought their groceries from. Somewhere there is a book that had the miners names and what they bought and owed. I'm still trying to find it. Are you the same Chris that built the train? Also, do you know if Reading Anthracite is going to do anything with the miners records that Frank Blase was working on? I'm very interested in the history of mining in the Schuylkill County and also in genealogy ( especially that of the miners) Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

Eddie

Yeah, cool site you guys got here. I'm gonna take a look around to see what you have here. Is anyone on here from the Pottsville area?

Sounds good. In a few weeks we're going to be cleaning out an old garage of my grandfather's. He bought it from a colliery in Ashland, dismantled it and took it to Cumbola for a garage. Hopefully there's some old mining tools still left in there.

I was wondering where you got the idea for the coal cars from. They are what caught my eye. I have an old O gauge Lionel set that was my Mom's from years ago and am trying to find cars and locomotives that are from the anthracite coal region. Nice job on the train.
