Did you guys catch the SAGO mine disaster special Sunday night on the discovery channel? It was good but we still do not believe the lightning theory. It does show one thing that the resue delay was caused from government departments not allowing the rescuers to go in because no one was willing to make the call for the responsibility.

Unfortunately that is one of the problems with governments. While rules and regulations come out to supposedly protect people, they can and do get in the way and make things more difficult to get done. Another problem is that many times a regulation comes out to someone else's political advantage. Too many laws and regulations end up making everything illegal or require special approval and or permits. This this prevents or slows down progress. One of the big problems in this country and why so much stuff is imported in this country.

This time it sounds like they worked against the poor miners in the Sago mine. I didn't see the special, I'll have to make a note to look for it and see it.
