Very sadly another death has occurred today, 17.01.07. A contract worker was killed at Daw Mill Colliery in Warwickshire England. He was crushed under a fall of ground whilst working in the coal gate of 31' face, he was 42, no other details are available at this time. This brings to 3, the number of deaths at this colliery in the last 8 months. Deputy Trevor steeples aged 46 was killed last June after being overcome by methane & beltman Paul Hunt aged 45 was killed in August after being hit by mine cars. Please spare a thought for these men & their families, as we the coal miners of England, do for your losses!

im not sure of safety laws across the pond, do you have safety measures comparatible to u.s. mines? i know you can get fined in a us coal mine for having your shoe untied "unsafe working practices" is what they called it. dont laugh it acutally happened. but back on topic, its a terrible loss. we also lost a miner here in pennsylvania late last year at an anthracite mine. he was the first anthracite death in pa since the mid 80s.
