I'm glad you are getting recognition for your hard work to preserve our mining heritage. And I hope the Huber Breaker and Archbald Shanty will be recognized for their roles in anthracite history.

Great article, it puts a good light on what you guys do. Some of the facts are incorrect in the article, but it is still a good one.

Hello All! Chris- Hope you guys have Afflack insurance while working in the Pioneer Tunnel :o Glad that the Huber Breaker will be saved. I remember seeing many of them back in 1974 when my father took us to Jermyn to show us his hometown & the Hudson Breaker was still standing there as well.Unfortunately, we took no photo's of it then & there was also a huge pile of Culm next to it as well. I think that part of the Marvine was still standing in Scranton also in those days as some of the Breakers were very close to I-81 & the highway was built over some mine tunnels & shafts in Scranton. My Aunt used to go to Johnson School in Scranton across from the Marvine & she would use the D&H Commuter Train that ran between Jermyn & Scranton to get to school( Late 1920s) Take Care all.
