I was just wondering how you guys at UGM find all those neat places??? the only ones I know of are roadside or viewable from the road.

I once spent half a day driving around Moosic looking for the Dupont Powder Mill and never found it (if anyone knows directions, please let me know, if you don't want the general public knowing just PM me). it also took me two trips to find the Dorrance Fan complex, I was rather frustrated after the first trip.

X-Ray eyes.... they see everything mine related.

No, mostly word of mouth and a little hunting just like you're doing. And it does get frusturating sometimes! we have some maps that indicate where old buildings are but usually you cant recognize much on the maps. Mostly just having a good eye for where things might be...

In the IronMining field, we rely on 100-150 year old maps, books, sometimes newer maps, and word of mouth.
