No dates for coal-to-oil

Interest in liquefied coal has been boosted by the high price of oil, but John W. Rich Jr. said there is not yet a projected start date for a proposed coal-to-oil plant in Schuylkill County.
Rich, president of Waste Management & Processors Inc., Gilberton, said he is frustrated that increased international interest has driven up demand — and thus costs — for coal-to-oil technology. This, combined with a lack of government support, continues to delay the plant he has been working on for more than a decade.
