Mining engineer David Greenfield has watched what happens after a lost stream returns to where it flowed before strip mining occurred.

“There’s some amazing stuff. Within months of our jobs being finished, all the macroinvertebrates, minnows and crayfish were just appearing. I don’t even know where they come from. Once you get the stuff there, life is just amazing,â€
