This is my new ride. No I don't like it. They give me a machine that is 39 feet long and expect me to work wonders in a 18 foot entry!!! Yea right. I actually can't wait til next week when I go on day shift, I am sure that one of the office meat heads will come and ask what I think of it

That is a real good scoop. Prob the best on the market. Hydraulics are a little slow from the factory but, overall a bullet proof scoop. Not, overly thrilled with the cableform panel, I much prefer the saminco. panel.

OOO, looks just as fun as trying to back a tractor-trailer in an alley meant for horse-and-buggy.

Don't let Mike Rowe get an eyeball on that.

I think I will take the tractor trailer. This thing is HUGE. It also pulls off the front wheels,so,if you are trying to dig in, you have already lost traction befre you even start.

I had 4 different maintenance guys down last night trying to figure out why it wouldn't move. It said it was goig in gear, it even gave a throttle percentage, just wouldn't go. I'm waiting for it to get muddy, this thing get stuck, and they have to bring a miner back in to pull it out

Could be several things. Parking brake may not be releasing. It is solenoid operated. Could have a contacter stuck and it won't let it. Did it sound like it was trying to ramp up.. Oh, yeah that scoop is not that big. Try running a shield hauler in less than 6 feet of height or a 488 scoop in 44 inch coal. Yeah now thats tight.

We're still waiting.

My bets are spread between something with a wooden D-Handle or a Lycoming Engine.

All the other functions work, motor starts up, lights are on . The display says that it is going in gear, but it is not fielding the motor. I can find no common denominator that is making it do this. Last night I was dumping at the face, had my foot on the brake, changed directions and there I sat for about 20 minutes. I reset the breaker, started and stopped the motor, wiggled pedals, everything I could think of. The other night I had a mechanic there because of this, he was following me around. I had to stop for a buggy to get by, and there I sat.

I tried to find my electrical print to see what it could be. Hard to troubleshoot when your not there to look at it. I guess the most important thing would be if the contactors are going in. I'm guessing the electrician has already looked at that. Could be a bad panel. They do go bad. When the electrician is working on your piece of equipment keep your nose in what he is doing. If you are going to make a career out of mining that is the field you need to be in. So, if you can learn alittle now it will help.

Thanks for the advice coal fire. So far the repairman have said "Its got problems" but we will get back with you. As far as I know, no one has opened it up yet. It only had 49 hrs when I left it Sunday night, so they may be trying to get Fairchild in to see about fixing it.
