we have been working hard saturdays after working at the coal mine as well as sundays making some major improvements at 2 of the local mine tours. mike a. and i as well as a few other volunteers have been working at the no.9 making several improvements that will be noticed this tour season. most have been changes in ventilation and rail work to make it work more efficiently. banks and adam have been down at the pioneer tunnel making some advancement there for this tour season. not just regular maintenance this year, improvements! i know its early, but just wanted to let you guys know to get out and visit all 3 mine tours this spring and all tour season to see what has been done. next year we have big plans for work at no.9 and pioneer so get ready for that action! i dont have any photos of work, maybe we can get mike piersa down this sunday to get some photos of progress.

Now now Chris don't go telling everybody everything. If we do that than they won't have to come out and see it in person.

We hate those comfo hats. We modified them so they sit alot lower without removing the rivets :D

We have been looking for some good low veiners.

Chirs just letting you know i was up the 190 this week and sadly we really can't look for a lot if change this year. They only have 2 full time guys (Tom and Tony)up there . They have only been doing the basics getting the mine ready for the season and from what im gathering your not going to see the county pour a lot money into the mine. All I do know is that the hoist was painted along with the inside of the hoist house. As for in the mine thay have a good amount of track work to do on the slope. The rail bed sunk in spots and it was a rough ride down towards the end of the season. Other than that the last weekend in March we put the little ropes for the brakes on saturday and then sunday the main rope goes on.
