those pics of sterling hill are great but I have 3 questions

1. Where is it located

2. Is it still in operation / who runs it

3. whats with all the boats?

Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the photos. Here are the answers:
1. Ogdensburg, NJ
2. There is no longer any underground mining there, but some surface areas are worked on a small scale for for mineral collectors. Some surface structures are locked up awaiting restoration while others are part of a mine tour: http://www.sterlinghillminingmuseum.org/
3. The non-public area is rented out as a boat storage yard. The boats will be returned to Lake Hopatcong (NJ) later in the spring.

Do they have public tours or are they invite only?

They have public tours of the underground mine and museum at 1 PM daily. Tours of the non-public areas (headframe, mill, ore bins, etc.) are available to groups by appointment. These cost extra and require participants to sign a waiver.
