I used to work for Pocahontas, my step dad starts on their strip mine next week. That is the slate belt going to the slate dump. About half mile above that was a big hole in the ground that is the Mead Portal of Josephine #2 mine. I worked there for 1 shift when they were developing it and they didn't have an electrician there. It is the only mine in the Country that is still mining the Pocahontas#2 seam It was low and wet.

In the never ending saga..... Got my letter today from MSHA. I'm now qualified as an Instructor - Surface. They are reluctant to give Instructor - UG. :cry: Or I could apply at AB to get the experience I need.

Qualifications. 1) 32-hour MSHA U/G Training. 2) I can find the mine. 3) I know more than one current employee and still wish to apply.
