Cool! No chargers, though. Maybe I'll get a couple two-tree and some of yous guys can help me figure out how to charge them. I'll see if my paypal is still open when I get home.

For a charger, I'll post something in the near future but the specs on the Koehler charger for a single lamp is 5v 4 amp. The charger does monitor battery voltage and will go into trickle mode automatically. With any other DC output of the above specs, just keep an eye on it and 16-20 hours for a full charge.

Cool! Just ordered 2 of them. If they work, what a deal! Thanks for posting this up! I'll figure out the charging later based on your info. Got 2, one for parts if need be. Now to get one of those brain buckets. . . .

Looks like a deal. IF and a big IF the batteries are in good condition. Still may not be a bad deal if you have to put a new battery on it.

yea thats a pretty good deal, the listing says they are from 2007-08. not bad, they should come back up. keep in mind these are the slide on type, not the twist on headpiece like ours.

Thanks chris, I'll have to keep that in mind when I get a lid somewhere.

Chris, before I purchased them, I was reading Koehlers products page. I read the Mark II is a "Key" type and the Mark V is a "Silde" style. I looked quickly and found this : http://www.ironworkergear.com/msa-skullgardminershardhat.aspx

What brand/model and source do you recommdend?

I just ordered an MSA comfo from lowpro that was posted in another thread. Sounds like the Mark II is the key type, or twist style, and the MarkV is the new slide type Chris was talking about. Since they are selling only these types of lids now, and the Mark V is the new style lamp, I took a leap of faith and ordered one.

yea john what i mean about the slide style is how it is charged. the slide style slides into the charger obviously. the key style quarter turns onto a pin on the charger. both work well, these mark V ones have a slightly smaller diameter head piece.

New style Mark V (Left) or the Old Style Mark II

The Mark V has a smaller headpiece and a transparent red ring.

The major difference is the charging connection.

Mark V has a slide and the the Mark II has a key . The charger has to match the headpiece.
