Frederick D. Underwood (February 1, 1849 - February 18, 1942)
President of the Erie Railroad from 1901 to 1926
He died of pneumonia at his home at 151 Central Park West, New York City, at the age of 93 on February 18, 1942
The beginning of the fiscal year of 1901-02 was marked by the presence of a new president in the Erie management—Frederick D. Underwood.
He came to the Erie May 1, 1901, at the request of J. P. Morgan & Co., as president of the company and director. He has worked as clerk, brakeman, conductor, foreman, superintendent and manager on different railroads.
A majority of Pennsylvania coal company capital stock was acquired by the Erie Railroad Company in 1901.This was a concrete breaker up to the tops of the ore pockets and steel covered with corrugated iron above this level. Alpha Portland cement was used

Thanks. I figured Id start with the Lackawanna basin then move to the Wyoming and beyond. Profiling different companies. And the independents. Ill also add stuff to ones I did. As I found out that you always find additional stuff. Its easy to be researching one thing, then find something about a tottaly different subject.
