I stopped by Little Buck Coal Company today on my way to Harrisburg to take a Civil Service exam. I was very surprised to see everything is gone except for the hoist house and timber pile.

Here are photos I took May 2010:

Another independent deep mine gone :-(

Are Harmony & Alfred Brown the only two operating, production, deep mines left?

Don't get your Knickers in a Knot over little buck, There moving there operation further out the mountain. Just behind the shanty thats still up there is a mine going right now under the name S&J it actually was a hole worked by little bucks owners for years. B&B,S&M,FKZ,RS&W,Cheasnut,N&L,Harmony,Alfred Brown and Carline are all still going strong yet.
