MSHA had a significant Presentation last week. The conference call has a lot of new information.

In a nutshell they are now thinking this was a very small methane ignition at the Longwall sherer that caused a massive coal dust explosion throughout the mine.

I'm not sure I really want ot hear about the merger. I've been watching Massey Stock since last April. Knowing good an well there was money to be make. Last July the stock was about $25 and the merger offer is $70.

Proving once again, every historian in the markets is rich.

I think this is a good thing. Alpha seems to try and run coal right. I think overall wages will drop somewhat (Massey pays the highest) but, I quality of life will improve for the average miner.

Just found this today. Massey's Jan 28th briefing.

This is the first I have heard of a " massive inundation of natural gas from an external source". I'm skeptical, but i'll keep an open mind.

MSHA released a preliminary report today. It would not be a good time to be a Management person at that mine.

They clearly blamed the management. A ripped them a new one.
