I have people ask me constantly if they ever found dinosaur fossils underground within the coal.... and i frankly have no idea.. I've never heard of / seen anything but plant matter fossils. Anyone ever hear of animal fossils?

We've also seen petrified logs as well.. Never seen fossils.

lots of carbonicola in seat earth or just above certain seams...but they are shellfish so dunno if they count,and in the south wales coalfield a lot of fossil fish have been found in the terminus of seams,fyi i dont know if usa seams are like english but if you find ironstone nodules in the coal break them open...they contain fossils in most cases.
