So theres been lots of speculation about whats going on with the exploratory drilling out along the Donaldson Stretch...

It looks like a Canadian company called Ember Clear http://www.emberclear.com/ wants to put in a coal gasification plant that uses a technology developed in China.... http://www.emberclear.com/technologyv2.html

They plan to mine anthracite near Good Springs to gasify in their gasification plant. The company has drilled a handful of exploratory holes to get an idea of how much anthracite is down in the basin. Engineering consultants from down in Kentucky wrote a really nice report about their preliminary findings.....

It will be interesting to keep an eye on the project as it progresses. Press releases can be found at:

scam..... you read the thing, and they tell you everything besides how much money it would cost, and how much money you would make, and the piece of property is so narrow, and right ontop of the deepest coal veins

its a preliminary investigation, bella.... the coal is not even a "resource" at this point

i get the feeling that there may be some tax dollars subsidizing some portion of this, so, even if this project is nearly impossible, all we need you to do at this point is to keep paying those taxes!!
