Hi everyone! Had a great time Saturday and it was nice meeting so many new people. Special thanks to Chris and the rest of the gang from UGM. Some mine features that are right beneath my noise I prolly would have never found if it were't for the tour. Hope to make it to the next one!

Btw, my photos can be seen here --> http://thelado.photosite.com/DaCoalRegi ... entPhotos/

I tryed to keep the tour photos together, but there are other photos that I have taken in the past in that album. I also have a slew of other photos including old mining photos from the Shamokin region. My homepage can be found here --> http://thelado.photosite.com/

Thanks!

Larry Deklinski

Yeah, just send me an email at l_deklinski@yahoo.com

I feel bad though, my best photo of the whole trip somehow got deleted when it was on the computer. It was one with all the lights off and you holding one of those miners flames. Such a great photo...I guess theres always next time.

Would have loved to go, but that was a bad date for me. It seems like every anthracite field tour seems to have more and more hidden excitement. I wonder what is going to happen on the upcoming Northern Field tour?

O, what a mess...This is the 2nd site in 4 months that has closed on me. I joined Smugmug and will once again be uploading some 3,000 photos to this site. Its such a pain, but hopefully this site will be around a little longer.

I will let you know when the mining portion is done. A few weeks ago I also took some train photos from Strausburg and Jim Thorpe, so I will let you know about them too.

What I am hoping to do is have the largest collection of photos from the PA road and also take a stab at the largest collection of PA mining photos. However, setbacks like these dont help.

well guys have to admit we had another great one today! thanks for everyone who attended and we will have pics on the site soon. still working on getting pics up from the last middle field tour but ill probably get them up together now. again i had a great time checking out some mining sites today and banksey ol boy did a great job as tour guide in the mine! well done guys another successful trip. how come all the "exciting" stuff happens on the middle field tours. we had no drunk guys and no native brook trout??

Yup, this was a very good, successful tour. The only problem with it was the lack of "eventful" strangers showing up! Everything went 100% smoothly!

I took lots of pictures, I'll post them up soon.

Sounds like I'm missing some great tours. Definitely going to have to go on one of these. I've been to all three of the anthracite mine tours that I know of, Lackawanna Mine in Scranton, No, 9 in Lansford, and Pioneer Tunnel in Ashland. Pioneer, more than once. Lots of fun.

this tour was definately awsome, especially since we went to some sights i have never been to. Banks did an excellent job as the tour guide for the 190 slope, and everything went very smoothly and surprisingly uneventful, and no off topic discussion about brook trout, safe releases, or ghosthunting. now my question for you is......
