Hello!

I've been sitting on this project for a while now: Build a respectable representation of the Huber Breaker in HO scale. As such I have not been able to find any decent sets of plans to build it for a few years so the project was shelved.

Two weeks ago I went to the Lackawanna mine tour and spent a long wind talking with Zack and in our discussions I mentioned my long shelved project and how I was looking for plans. He mentioned some historical societies but I do not for the life of me remember what they were so I now I am turning here with my quandry.

So, any idea where I can find even a dimensioned drawing of the exterior?
Thanks!
~TF

Hey TF, he prob mentioned the huber breaker preservation society and im pretty sure that John Dziak of the greater pittston area historical society has a lot of info on it. heck a couple guys on here might have some blueprints....

However, i do not. i just want to point out that henceforth on this forum "Zack" (sign in name GlenAldenCoal) shall only be refered to as "Sack". its not derogatory or degrading in any way, it just is what it is.

:wink: :twisted:

Is there a story behind the name "Sack"? I would love to hear it.

I thought that it would be longer, and have an odd story behind it.

Thanks for the links! From there I was able to find another set of scans and I may be able to start now as long as my search for some images on the steel shapes turn up! 8)

As long as the model club wants it I'll start construction sometime soon. :mrgreen:

Why not kitbash it from New River Mine kits? That is what I did, only it wasn't Huber, it was one of my own design.

Obviously in no order of importance:

Zack = Sack
Banks = Bink
Chris = Smizo or Puddin Pop
Mike A = Mike A
Adam Z = Adam Bean
Bella = well we have many names for him ;) most derogatory
John K = The good reverend Johnny K. In the medium sized vein
Scott = Scotty pooh, Butters or (and he's gonna hate me for this) Seth
Nick = The Newt
Greg = Greggles
Pete = PJ

C'mon Scott I've had that one since college. There's more people that know me as smizo than Chris! In fact not one person at work calls me Chris hahaha. That name comes from my airplane / skydiving world so that's why it hasn't ever made its way around the mining circle........

Interesting. My dad is known among his Cavaliers (the drum corps) buddies as Boo Boo. He got the name because he was a buddy of a guy who did a great Yogi Bear impersonation. You can guess what that his name was.

Scott what ever do you mean :wink:

And let's not get into names for every single piece of equipment at the mine! Some of those names were quite colorful! I think you and i, Scott named every piece of timber in that east primrose job too :lol:
