Are there any Coal Breakers out there still in operation? I would like to know so that I can visit one and maybe take some measurements so that I can model one precisely. I would also appreciate if anyone can point me to a site with a diagram of the internal machinery's location and the coal's path from when it enters the breaker to when it gets put into the tipple and loaded into hoppers. I would like to know this so I can make a model worthy of the NMRA's (National Model Railroad Association) young modelers competition. I am also very confused about today's flood-loaders. Is the coal that is loaded in to the cars as they pass underneath raw or sorted?

There is a very small one in Hudson PA. No rail service, mom and pop operation, but it's so cool. Make a good model.
