I was wondering if anyone knows what is going to happen with Concrete City for sure? I heard the group who owns the land is going to be selling it a while back, I was hoping someone has heard something new about it recently. If a developer gets it, it looks like another piece of anthracite history will be gone

It would take a lot to demolish though wouldn't it? I thought that is the reason why it is still standing. I wish I had enough friends and money to all chip in and buy this place. I actually just re-edited some photos I took of it last year and now I want to make another visit.

It does look totaly different now, from some of those old pictures though it really looked like something in it's day.

there used to be a fairly large 8 page PDF out there with history info and several older pictures of Concrete City...it looks like it was taken down from where I found it so I just uploaded it. If you have a slow connection it might take a while it's a 19MB file.

ok for those of you who don't want to read about it or download the 19MB file (which I would recommend theres some good info in there!) I pulled some of the photos out of the PDF with Photoshop:

ok I had to bump this...I have a different view of Concrete City, an editing process I just learned I wanted to share. Most all pictures of the place are dull, gray and lifeless...I think this one adds a little life to the place:

And no photo geeks, its not HDR, that was made from a normal JPG (would be better from a RAW file, but I haven't used that much yet). Of course it might be too whacked out for some people, but I think its neat.

Yeah, that gives it quite the comic book feel. Good job!
