found a few promising mines in plains, back from fort benning so i went looking with my friends gps, led us to a set of woods i always rode my bike through when i was a kid, long and behold we found some good drift/slope entrances, go figure. the one has real good air rushing out and the timbering looks cool, would be a tight squeeze to get in initially and they look a little rockfally, etc. you can see the coal seam upon shining ur light in the entrance. nobodys been in these in years, im 100% sure it was so heavily covered in brush and pickers for acres 360 degrees around the openings. maybe theres som goodies there who knows, not too sure on the water table height also, looks to be old mountain type mines.
