This is another one of those very unique mines. It had (6) steel bridges that crossed the river (4) remain & some with track & mast arms. This mine was approx 12 miles underground but approx 4 miles to the river for barge loading. This ment that once the loaded cars would come out they would be placed in a holding yard. The "River Motors" would then hok up on the cars to be transported the remaining 4 miles & sent to a rotary dump facility then onto the barge. This system even had a complete signal system due to the traffic in & out of this mine.

hey thats pretty neat, ive also never come across this. in the anthracite mine laws of pa and the federal book, they have locomotive regulations but ive never seen operating instructions. this would look cool printed out sitting on our seat!
