Thanks for that article!
I also wanted to post the speech I "attempted" to give at the press conference:
Imagine if you can: Waking up and not being able to work. The career you and your family
before you worked so hard to create was suddenly pulled out from under you. A legacy will be the only thing left,
because the powers-that-be are forcing unrealistic expectations and costly fees on you.
The indpendent miners need our help. The Fed. gov. is using their power to advance a political
ideology, and destroying families in the process.
These families are an important part of our State's, as well as our Country's, history. Their
heritage is vanishing because of the incessant force used by the government to drive them
out of business. This is a story of American grit, determination, hard work and honor.
They come from a History that is as important to PA as the Amish or William Penn, and I'm determined to
try and preserve it.
They are also important to this Country as a source for energy. With a little research, anyone can
see how coal can be used to create a cleaner-burning fuel and reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
If the government were smart, they'd realize that helping these miners, not shutting them down,
would in the long run be beneficial to all Americans in the near future.
If we can get this message out, hopefully more people such as me in the outlying communities will
will agree and take a few minutes of their time to help.
