I'm still on FB but I never see it. I only have it to use messenger. Once in a great while I go on because someone sent me a message to look at something but in general I'm not in good shape and some things people post can really set me back. Not to me specifically, just things about people dying that they don't even know. You know the type. Someone gets killed in a car accident a hundred miles away and they feel compelled to post it. The types that thrive on other peoples' tragedies. I'll see things that remind me of that day sometimes. So I'm on messenger, but really can't handle scrolling through the wall most days. 'll be at Steam Town Sept. 5 in some capacity. I'm not sure I can handle the Italian festival afterward, something we always used to do. Unless my friend that said she was coming with me is there. But I won't do it alone.

Hey John, is there something special happening at steam town or are you just going? I'm planning a trip up that way at some point I just haven't set a date yet. I'd like to hit all the mine tours and steam town and maybe the pike show.

The weekend of the 5th is Rail Fest. They have a visiting locomotive, Nickel Plate Road steamer. I'm going to drive down a few weeks after for the excursion to Binghamton with the steamer. Driving from Binghamton to Scranton, riding the train up to Binghamton and back, then dinner and driving home to Binghamton. Search facebook for Lackawanna Cutoff Special. Tickets were expensive but I don't care about that anymore, I just do what I want to now.

The weekend of Rail Fest is also the same weekend as the Italian Festival in downtown Scranton. It's huge, and a short walk from Steamtown. I park next to the mall's parking garage, they have a lot open there with a gate that lets you into Steamtown. They lock the steamtown gates shrtly after 5 but this lot is always open so you can spens as much time as you want at the Italian festival.

I'm probably the last person on the planet without a Facebook account. I've been thinking about setting one up though just to be able to find out about events and other stuff happening. I missed a bunch of things this year related to my trade that weren't advertised anywhere except Facebook and I never knew they were going on.

There is a lot to be said for just doing what you want to.

I still talk to Doug quite often! About the only one I still talk to from here besides the Iron guys anymore, sadly.

Yeah, I wish there was a way to jump start the forum here. Doesn't seem to be much going on lately.

Yeah. I'm checking the forums every day, but nothing is happening except the spammers.
