Loree Colliery Larksville, outside wilkesbarre.

Derailment, Loaded trip coming from Grassy Island No. 4 shaft to the Olyphant Colliery. Just off South Valley ave in the middle of town. The standard gauge line on the left is still active to carbondale.

I love these things. one is up at the anthracite heritage museum by the lackawanna mine tour. its from the powderly colliery but exactly like these 2. the only thing is its covered with this wooden thing and you cant get far enough away to get a nice shot of it. oh well

My Grandfather Woodworth used to operate the Lokie at the Hudson Colliery in Jermyn way back in the day. It was one of the many Jobs he had while working35+ years there. I wonder what happened to the Lokie from Jermyn? (if it was saved or scrapped) Take Care.
