This is the discussion page for the Lawrenceville Cement Mine or Lawrenceville Limestone Mine. While Miner CTMike, Miner Mark were there last year, these pictures were from our latest trip there. This trip consisted of myself, Miner CTMike, Sophie, and our good friends from the Underground Miners Chris and Banks. More trips here to follow...

Wide open mine.

Any ideas what the machines in Photo 4 & 6 were used for?

Being that it is a cement mine it looks like it could be some kind of processing plant perhaps for packaging, notice what apears to be a hopper on top.

Yeah, the Big Bed isn't so big after being in this mine! The seams in these cement mines are pretty big, it is very overwhelming being inside...

the upper level was pretty interesting. small chamber with 3' gauge rail still in place and a chute that punched through to the lower level.

Yes, this was certainly a fun trip. This mine is big enough that you will also continue to find new things. I certainly wouldn't mind going back a few more times to look around some more. This mine is also a very picture friendly mine. I got a ton more good pictures, I will be going through them shortly to post some of them up.

Thanks! Those shots are all mine. She's still working on hers, but she did take a couple for me, with my camera:

These were taken on Thursday when we went back with waders. We also did some exploring. If you turn right at the compressor house, you can go up a grade and into another second level! There is a roof collapse and another shaft/chute. Hope we can make another trip to the area soon...
