Interesting video about a family forced to auction off their cave home... Basically they bought a cave with 3 acres and then built a wall in the entrance of the cave. Pretty neat, too bad they needed to sell..

I heard on the news that this is a "Mining Cave"..

Need to do some more research...

Might need to move it to a different forum too!

Here is the EBay auction:

Here is the website for the house:

http://caveland.ning.com/

It is supposedly a small sand mine (although it almost looks like a limestone mine - need to do more research)

Looks pretty neat inside. I'm almost considering moving now! They are looking for 300K for it, located in Missouri. Pretty neat use for an old mine..

Here are a few photos from their site:

It appears a lot of it isn't finished, but it is all stuff that could be done.

one of the Kornfelds (the owners of the Woodlands in Wilkes Barre), either Mark or Mitchell, I dont remember which, lives in a house that is completely underground. No cave or anything, there is just a entry door on a hillside and some ventalation pipes, otherwise you would never know it was there. It is behind the building somewhat adjacent to the parking lot. I've seen it several times and my father was actually in it once. That is how I know about it.

Very interesting. Is this house built in a former mine, or is this just built underground I guess for the fun of it?

as far as i know its just built underground, however the area was known at one time as mundys glen and the lispis operated a small independant mine there like 50 yrs ago so its a posibility, but i doubt it
