This year the halloween barn party will have a late 1800s early 1900s mining theme!
come dressed as a miner from an era long ago or be creative and prepare a costume like a mule or other vintage persona like a cruel wealthy mine owner complete with top hat and monocle or a hot 1800s prostitute.

what better place for a bunch of roudy miners to get together than a large 1800s post and beam barn where bousterous dancing and brawls are sure to ensue... or take a break and relax in the barn loft and look down on the action below.

the barn will be decorated with mining artifacts and set up with drinking games, a barn dance area and drinks served out of a vintage ore car. there will be a mix of interesting music, just out side the open barn doors will be a fire to get warm around or if it is really cold the doors will be closed and the barn heated.
at 9pm will be the traditional firing of the cannon which is really loud :)

The 5th annual Halloween barn party will take place starting around 6pm saturday october 24th in Monroe, Connecticut. the address is 181 hattertown rd monroe CT. there is tons of parking and places to sleep for those coming from far away. it would be great for all to come in costume but is not required even just throwing on a hard hat with lamp would be fine! and feel free to bring some mine themed treats or drinks.

If you are reading this right now then you should definitely consider attending the Mine Themed Halloween Party in Connecticut! I'm looking forward to seeing some creative costumes and singing along to 19th century songs by the Sunk miners. Good people, good drink, and always plenty of surprises. I hope to see you there! :D

ah the annual ct halloween gathering is quickly approaching. im torn between costumes. guess youll just have to wait till then to see. really looking forward to sundays adventure also, which the ct boys never disappoint. these partys like ours keep getting better and better every year, it should reach a plateau here soon, but it never seems to! yea so for next weekend im pretty excited, but a bit nervous, cause you never know whats going to happen at one of these friggin things!

nice Banks! actually that suggestion was aimed at the ladies but hey I think it will work for you
yea these parties are fun, unpredictible and crazy but always in a historically acurate way  one time Marc went missing so what do we do? organize a posse, light torches and go find him. once the cops came for a noise complaint i had to explain to them that the cannon we were firing was "legal'' because it was pre 1899. its also funny when the local cops ask to be invited next time! but yea there is always some interesting turn of events.

any suggestions for sundays mine trip? cement mines? iron mines? anybody want to do some rappelling?

yea newt thats right only a few more days till the party !
i hope everyone is ready for this
looks like it will be good weather. tons of sleeping spots in the house and barn loft so bring a sleeping bag and maybe some halloween treats, pasties or drinks to serve off the ore cart/ bar..... and.... maybe something nice to give to the cops when they come due to noise complaints ..... no really, like some donuts and coffee or something, i think thad be nice
i would also like to place an order for a small amount of top quality coal for the fire and the fire places in the house so every one can stay nice and warm at night!
dont forget the mining gear for sunday and if you have a harness bring it as there may be the option of going vertical.
the party starts around 9 pm but come early for some pre party craziness and intense mine discussion :D
