its too bad my batteries died after our trip up to semi anthracite land near towanda in bradford county and these were all i could get, as we hit this on the way home. i didnt get a chance to get some photos of the internal shaft and workings...... or what ever you call them in these silly hard rock mines.

When you go back, let me know. I'd definitely like to check out the internal shaft and workings and poke around the area.

not a whole lot of artifacts inside but outside was unbelievable.

ancient buildings, steam hoists, boilers, mine cars, lots of other equipment too.... absolutely unbelievable. one of the most well preserved hard rock sites i've seen!

which reminds me, we really should go back and get more photos before that place disappears.

Really?? If I had known that, I'd have been there 4 years ago! Definitely have to take a trip there then, and soon!

if i knew yous guys were this excited about that place id have taken you years ago. guess i just forgot about it with all the coal stuff. jeez on your next trip over here we'll have to swing by its only about a half hour west of the northern field. actually its real close to banks' house. we should have gone there on his 21st birthday. when we had our shop in tunkhannock to restore the mine cars we took the reverend there one night after work. thats the night those pics were taken. i think it was 1 in the morning!
