Very interesting. I was kind of hoping the 21st century would bring back the classic mine mule, but perhaps a robotic mule that can recharge overnight in the underground mule barn and doesn't bite or try to crush a miner when it gets moody. :D

Interesting but the PR blurb on pg2 "The RBMTS has no integral drive unit on the train so that rail weight is only based on car and content weight, not driver weight typical of a conventional railroad operation." is wrong. Railroads are based on axle loading, the Locomotive and Car maximums are the same regardless. Weight on Driver specifications went out with the steam engines.

I would be curious if anyone knew of this system being used anywhere. While it isn't exactly historic, it is pretty neat to watch.

Ya, that thing is pretty sweet. If it brings back rail haulage, that's great. Even if there's no motor operator, tracks are still cooler than belts in my book.
