From the description, it sounds like these are the old Rittenhouse Gap magnetite mines, some of which are on the Bear Creek ski resort property.

I'm glad they are all right. You really need to keep safety and judgment in mind before entering a mine. They obviously didn't have the right tools or safety gear and were very lucky.

From the description of the second story, it almost sounds like they entered an adit and tried climbing out the shaft. Difficult to know for sure.

*facepalm* see this is what happens when you have a bunch a dumb teens (like me but im a little smarter) thats why you research and know mine saftey

im glad there ok and hope they learned there mistakes
