I know you guys have explored this one but have you seen the piece of rail lying near the working with the flooded room?

It's been a long time since I've been there. For some reason I remember seeing rail at that mine, but I am honestly not 100% sure. I thought there might have been rotted rail there as well. How's the mine holding up? We probably should go back there to rephotograph the site.

I'm pretty sure we've never come upon that section of rail. The only rail I remember seeing was just inside the southern stope entrance. There were two sections and they were indeed badly rotted. See the picture below.

With the recent rains that have fallen, the mines and surrounding areas are VERY wet. So it may be that the water table has moved higher in the slope since your visit. The section of rail is about thirty to forty feet from the slope that leads to water.

Still, the room with the pillars looked to be in good shape. When I revisit this place, I'm bringing work gloves. there was some type of tree there with thorns. I developed this horrid allergic reaction with my hands both itching and burning for several hours.
