Come to the largest gathering of mine enthusiasts in the northeast!

On Saturday, November 3, 2012, IronMiners will host its annual Fall event, IronMiners' Barnyard Bash. This get-together is open to the general public and admission is free.

The event starts at 5pm and is held in an an authentically restored 19th century barn in Monroe, CT. When you arrive you can try your hand at panning pay-dirt at our gold panning station and keep the gold you find!

Meet like minded folks and share your adventures or discover that next site you need to visit, chat about mining, history, geology, or what gear you use underground. Observe artifacts and minerals on display or simply enjoy the streaming photos from mines we have documented.

At 6pm a dinner buffet will be served and you can enter a free raffle to win an authentic flame safety lamp. Then sit back and enjoy an interesting presentation and video footage taken on our underground explorations.

At 9pm, musical guest Elastic Pyramid performs their unique take on indie rock, featuring IronMiners co-founder, Mike Hetman on bass.

Barnyard Bash takes place at 181 Hattertown Rd. Monroe CT 06468. There is plenty of parking and room for campers. The event will be held rain or shine. If you have any questions please contact us at mines@ironminers.com. Hope to see you there!

Perhaps the only free event that rewards visitors with real gold is almost about to rock Monroe, CT! In just 12 days, participants armed with gold pans will have a chance to put their miners instinct to the test! Even if you have never panned before, we will show you how and help you discover your thirst for gold. However, I must warn you, it's highly addictive and we cannot be held responsible if you contract gold fever!

I look forward to meeting many of you for the first time and catching up with familiar faces. We are a friendly bunch and welcome even the most casual enthusiast of mining! Meet great people, leave happy. Hope to see you there!

I'm afraid that I won't be able to make it this year, maybe another year. (after all, I'm just a junior in high school)

Read through the old post and then you can tell us. A good portion of the inside jokes are buried in old post.
