That was an excellent video! im going to link it up on our site. did you guys notice paul hummel on there? also there was the fan house in tower city as well as the tower city no. 1 tunnel and the middle creek shaft on there. man, that was actually very well put together. i think the kid falling down the shaft was good to have on there as it points out that this actually does happen. also i like how the one rescue guy says that very few people posess the training and equipment needed to go in mines. at least he didnt say no one!

That was actually a very well done movie. They did a very good job highlighting the dangers of exploring an abandoned mine without the proper training and equipment. Those home videos were actually pretty scary. Pictures of kids venturing into mine with out any safety gear or even flash lights. Then you see them crossing a winze (internal shaft in coal mining terms) walking on old rail. Then pictures of the kids walking on old timbering which looks ready to fall. The kid who fell down the shaft, chute, or stope (couldn't tell what that was) was pretty lucky that he wasn't hurt very bad. He was attempting to use some old rope which someone left to go up and down through the levels. There are so many problems with that I wouldn't know where to start. He is also lucky that there was no bad air down there. Buildups of carbon dioxide are heavy and would accumulate in the lower levels of some mines prone to this if ventilation is bad in the mine. You climb down a rope into black damp with little oxygen, you will never have the oxygen requirements to maintain the strength to climb out of it.
