Here is a short video of a Vulcan Ironworks Locomotive (0-4-0) pulling a bunch of standard gauge passenger cars. While it is standard gauge, nice video showing some action shots of a former Coal mining engine.

I can't believe how bad the track is  Thats cool though.. too bad its standard. i don't likethe extended cab on it so much. Pioneers is open in the back. That one looks like it has an extended floor with a gate on it..

The extended area and the "little gate" are the coal bunker. Unlike a mine lokie which could easily refuel from the cars it was hauling if the fuel from the cab floor was exhausted, a loco such as this would have to carry fuel around as well. The Porter in Kempton and the RDG shop switcher at the Railroad Museum of PA are set up the same way. [/list]

aaaahhhhh okay.. That makes sense. I thought it was just for the operators to have more room and the wall for safety. That makes way more sense though. Cool.

I would have to agree, I kind of like the looks of the 42" Vulcan Iron Works at Pioneer Tunnel better. This Lokie is just too small looking for the standard gauge passenger cars that it is pulling. But I guess being that this is more of a switcher loco than anything else, ideally you would want it to be small. Just you couldn't get it very fast with the small drive wheels on it. Glad to see it restored and in action. You don't see these operational very often.
