I didn't know where to post this, but Shana seemed to think that you all would get a kick out of this picture.

I found this at a flea market in Birmingham, Alabama. If I had only known that this would be an appropriate Christmas present for some of you here on the board, I would have picked them up for ya's!

I think they should come up to Thomasville to the Market some weekend too.
There's plenty of antique LAMPS and things...

Next time I go, I'll look for mining stuff and see if I can get pics.
They don't allow ya to take much in to the antique building.

There's three limestone mines in York. I used to haul out of two of them. (Bulk Tanker. Hauled lime to roofing plants. They make shingles with it. Cool, huh?)

My cousin works at the one in Thomasville. Not sure if he's on the safety team or not. I haven't seen him in a few years.

I still wanna drive one of them Euks...
However you spell them.
So yes, I have quarry/mine knowledge from a few years ago tucked in my fat head somewhere.

;)

Come to think of it, there's an old limestone quarry down the road from me near Hanover. Maybe I'll sneak around (or ask around) and get pics when I have the time.
