Reading & Northern ran a passenger car extra from Port Clinton to Pittston today. They moved the equipment to prepare for this weekend's excursions from Tunkhannock to Jim Thorpe & for the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway.

I was able to catch the move this morning at Haucks.

hey mike, that was a great trip. we caught it in falls friday night when they brought it up to tunk. banks got a few good shots there. the trip yesterday was a real blast, and for those who missed it, we heard through the rumor mill that there is a possibility of a fall foliage trip to tunk. :D i guess this was a good trial run for distance. they said they used alot more water than they anticipated hence the fire dept refilling the tender. and the diesels did have to kick in on the grade coming up out of avoca to mountain top. however this was to be expected as the unit was built to go fast on the flat out west not climb grades of the east. i hear that was the first time in 55 years a steam engine was in tunkhannock.
