This happened near dalton today, about 10 mins from my apartment. got talking with a cp guy and he took me around the site. the blue light specials were keeping people back but we got bs'ing about coal mining junk when he saw my truck and asked if i wanted to have a look.

Nice Photos Chris!!!

You’re becoming quite the railfan with your derailment photos & the 425 excursion next month!!!!!

The derailment aftermaths are always cool to see as long as no one was hurt. It’s amazing how fully loaded cars are tossed around like children’s toys.

I was able to photograph the Hershey Derailment 2 years ago along the Norfolk Southern Harrisburg Line.

This by far is my favorite derailment photo. It was taken by a CSX employee in West Virginia.

John remember the GP 9 locomotive in Virginia missing both trucks. . . a friend of mine told me the story behind that. The guy dies while scrapping the unit that is why it is still there.
