Top Gun
Lord of the Rings
Narnia
Pirates of the Caribean 1, ( 2 & 3 were weak)

Vanishing Point there is a great movie, especially if you are a Mopar fan. Interestingly the Challenger was spared in the scene at the end where he drives his 1970 Dodge Challenger into the bulldozer and kills himself. Its true, if you watch the movie and slow it down you will see that they actually destroyed a 1968 Chevy Camaro. Its true, check it out.

I'll agree that October Sky is high on the list. I would recommend that you read the book. The film takes some wide liberties with the story. The book, " The Coalwood Way" is a good read. It parallels October Sky, but goes more into the human interest and maybe a bit more on the mine.
