 Post subject: Volunteers for Big Engine Move

I just wanted to let everyone know that the long awaited relocation of the Snow corliss water pumping engine from Rough and Tumble to NMIH is going to take place soon. In preparation for the move, there will be several work sessions to unbolt the engine. These will take place at Rough and Tumble in Kinzers, PA, on Saturday, April 25th, Saturday May 2nd, and Friday and Saturday, May 8th and 9th. Those coming from afar might want to consider May 8-9th as Rough and Tumble will be having their Spring steam up on those days, so you could work on the engine and enjoy the operating equipment at the show. Work will begin around 9:30 AM each day. If anyone could make it on any of those days, please let me know. We would be grateful for any amount of time you could devote to this project.

About half of the engine was lifted out of the building today. The rest will follow during the week, with shipment to Bethlehem tentatively scheduled for the following week. I couldn't be there today, but R&T volunteer Jean Kriebel got some shots of the flywheel, crank, and pumps being lifted:
