For all of those who observe this day, I hope today's celebratory smoke is also a toast to all cultures, past and present who helped stand for something in the face of adversity. Preserving mining history may be an upwards battle, but it only makes me wonder how much would be lost if everyone just remained quiet. Imagine if no one took a picture, visited a breaker (especially since most in eastern PA are now gone), visited an historic mine (even if just from the outside), or talked to a real miner, there would be no story and no reason for this site and others. Thank you to all who even stopped once just to take a snapshot of an abandoned mine or post a comment on the forum. It collectively goes a long way...

Right on, and while we're at it, lets repeal all drug laws, and end the rediculous war on drugs, and make this a society where all adult citizens are free to make their own mistakes, decisions, etc, without the intervention of big government. Lets return to a society of self reliance and true capitalism, rather than one of government bailouts and nanny states. By the way I dont do any drugs or even drink, just an anarcist libertarian!

Oh THAT'LL improve the efficiency of the already broken working class in this country.

Wait, I'm a slave to a cancer stick...

Nevermind.
